Zara’s experience in competitive Irish dance led her to performing with various dance shows, most notably ‘Riverdance’.
She began performing with ‘Riverdance’ in 2000 - She then performed for 3 years on the ‘Riverdance Flying Squad’, while finishing her academic studies, and then 5 years touring fulltime with ‘Riverdance the show’. Zara finished her 4th successful run as lead dancer with ‘Riverdance’in the Gaiety theatre, Dublin, in August 2008.
She still regularly performs with the ‘Riverdance Flying Squad’ Her most recent performances with Riverdance Flying Squad in 2009 include trips to both Beijing, China and Salzburg, Austria.
Within the short time of 6 months of touring with the show Zara was asked to train as lead dancer. She was delighted to perform this prestigious role for 4 and a half years worldwide. She is proud to be the first An Comhdháil lead dancer with ‘Riverdance’. Zara has performed with the Avoca, Boyne, Corrib and Foyle troupes of ‘Riverdance’ throughout Europe, Asia, Russia, Scandanavia, Mexico, USA, Canada. She also had the great opportunity to dance lead in the Gaiety Theatre in her hometown of Dublin, for 4 successful runs.
Highlights of her touring career with ‘Riverdance’ to date include performing to packed audiences in Tokyo, Paris, Berlin, the Kremlin in Moscow, the Hammersmith Apollo in London, The Pantages Theatre in LA, to name but a few, and of course the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin.
Her role with the show led her to do a lot of publicity work for the show, both TV and radio appearances.
